Sam's Club has claimed the top spot in Consumer Reports' latest rotisserie chicken evaluation, surpassing longtime leader Costco and eight other national retail chains.
The product testing organization assessed chickens from multiple locations based on flavor, moisture, sodium levels, and packaging safety.

No environmental plastics or forever chemicals were found in any tested brands.
Member's Mark Seasoned Rotisserie Chicken earned the highest ranking due to its distinctive preparation, color, and moisture profile.
"A paprika rub gave the bird a beautiful bronzed color," Consumer Reports wrote, adding that the meat had a deep roasted flavor accented by garlic and onion notes.
Shana DeSmit, Sam's Club's divisional merchandise manager of meat and seafood, addressed the retailer's strategy following the results.

"We take that responsibility seriously when it comes to flavor and freshness," she said. DeSmit noted the supplier's commitment to volume consistency and competitive pricing.
"Our focus is entirely on delivering that consistent, seasoned-to-perfection quality every single time, while maintaining a price that brings genuine value to our members," she added.
Costco's Kirkland Signature Seasoned Rotisserie Chicken finished second. Judges praised its large size but noted inconsistent sodium levels between individual samples.

Stop & Shop placed third with a flavorful product despite visual imperfections, followed by Walmart in fourth, Wegmans in fifth, and Whole Foods Market in sixth.
