French Ligue 2 side Red Star FC has completed the signing of 20-year-old central defender Elyaz Zidane from Spanish club Real Betis.
The announcement was made on Saturday, July 4, 2026, as the club bolsters its squad for the upcoming season.

Standing at 1.96 meters, the left-footed defender spent two seasons with Real Betis, primarily featuring for the reserve team in the Spanish third division.
He made 22 appearances for the B side.
Before his stint in Spain, Zidane spent over a decade developing within the Real Madrid youth academy.
The French youth international has an impressive record with national teams.
He won the U17 European Championship in 2022, reached the U19 European Championship final in 2024, and secured third place at the 2025 U20 World Cup in Chile.
In total, he has accumulated 46 youth caps.

"With 46 cumulative selections in the French youth teams, he has established himself as a regular face of the tricolor generations.
In U20, he notably took part in the 2025 World Cup in Chile," Red Star FC stated in an official release.
The club welcomed his arrival as part of a summer transfer window that also includes a new head coach, Damien Perrinelle, who signed a two-year contract after Greg Poirier's departure.
"He brings his qualities and potential to the Audonian group," the club added regarding their new defensive acquisition.
Red Star FC finished fourth in Ligue 2 last season. They will open their new league campaign on August 8 at 8:45 p.
