FIFA has launched an investigation into allegations of racist abuse directed at YouTuber IShowSpeed during a World Cup match in Miami on July 3.

The governing body confirmed the probe after video footage from Darren Watkins Jr.'s livestream showed an altercation during Argentina's Round of 32 victory over Cape Verde at Hard Rock Stadium.

"FIFA strongly condemns racism, hate and discrimination in all forms," said FIFA in a statement. "The FIFA World Cup is a celebration of unity, diversity and respect."

The 21-year-old creator was broadcasting from the stands while wearing a Cape Verde jersey when an Argentina supporter allegedly directed a racist remark at him.

Security personnel subsequently escorted Watkins away from the area.

Watkins has amassed more than 50 million subscribers on YouTube and partnered with FIFA for official tournament content.

The governing body has not yet identified the supporter or disclosed any definitive timeline for potential disciplinary sanctions.
