Tommy Fleetwood has arrived in North Berwick to compete in the Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club.

The English golfer is also preparing for the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, his childhood home course.

The reigning FedEx Cup champion completed a practice session at Royal Birkdale last week. The R&A filmed the session and published it on YouTube on Sunday.

Residents of his hometown Southport recently unveiled a mural near the course. The mural will host live events during tournament week.

Equipment Adjustments

Fleetwood adjusted his equipment setup to handle course gaps. He carries a diverse selection of TaylorMade clubs and a Titleist wedge.

To address a 25-yard gap between his 4-iron and 5-wood, he uses a 24-degree TaylorMade Qi4D 9-wood. He originally adopted this configuration during the 2023 Players Championship.

"The feeling that Links golf gives you on a beautiful sunny day with a bit of wind is very special," said Fleetwood.

He noted that he could easily identify the Birkdale coastline while flying into Manchester recently.

This highlights his lifelong connection to the venue where he has aimed to win the Claret Jug since childhood.

"It's an amazing time for the town, an amazing time for Southport and everybody here," said Fleetwood. "Having the Open back is really special.

It's only ever one place where you're from and you're born. So many close connections to the town.
