Feyenoord has turned down an initial transfer bid of €17.5 million from Premier League side Nottingham Forest for right-back Givairo Read, according to Dutch media reports.

The offer was rejected by Feyenoord technical director Dévy Rigaux, as it fell short of the €20 million valuation.

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the bid and indicated that Nottingham Forest expects to continue negotiations.

Read Attracts Widespread Interest

The 20-year-old defender has drawn attention from several top clubs, including Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Paris FC.

Paris FC previously made a bid exceeding €20 million in January, but Read chose to remain at Feyenoord.

Feyenoord manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst considers Read a key player for the upcoming season.

Although Read is open to joining elite European clubs, he is content at De Kuip, where his contract runs until 2029.

Feyenoord stands to make a significant profit on Read, who joined on a free transfer from FC Volendam in 2023 without a sell-on clause.
