He noted that she was "principled" and valued for her strong character. Despite jokes about her returning to politics, she preferred her quiet life in Devon.

"And she was kind, she was very, very kind," Vine said. "In the end, the kindness individually was such a beautiful thing to see."
He concluded with a personal farewell: "You were true to yourself, and you were kind, and we're going to miss you so much."
