A vehicle driven by an older woman crashed into the Lockhill Post Office on Huebner Road in San Antonio on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
The incident caused significant structural damage and forced a temporary suspension of all local operations.

San Antonio Police Department officers responded to the collision in the 12900 block of Huebner Road just before 11 a.
m. Preliminary reports indicate the unidentified driver may have experienced a medical episode prior to the crash.
She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Damage and Service Disruption
The United States Postal Service confirmed that the crash compromised the front door, the retail lobby, and the P.
O. Box area.
No injuries were reported inside the facility. Officials immediately halted retail services and blocked access to the P.
O. Box lobby to facilitate repairs.

"Damages are currently being assessed, and the timeframe for completion of repairs is not known at this time.
We appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding as we work to make the necessary repairs," stated the United States Postal Service.
To accommodate affected customers, mail from the P. O.
Boxes is being held securely at the Lockhill facility until safe retrieval is possible.
Retail operations have been temporarily redirected to the Cedar Elm Post Office at 5837 De Zavala Road, which operates from 8 a.
m. to 5:30 p.
