Pogacar launched a strategic attack on the penultimate climb, showcasing his strength across seven categorized climbs, including the challenging Puy Mary Pas de Peyrol.

Despite his success, Pogacar faced boos from some spectators. "I have haters and haters gonna hate," he said.

"To all the booers who are there, they just give more boost to my teammates. They put wood on the fire."

He acknowledged the critics but emphasized that the majority of fans are supportive.

"Cycling fans are the greatest between all sports," he stated, noting that "99% of people are cheering."

Pogacar drew inspiration from tennis star Novak Djokovic, who has faced similar criticism.

Meanwhile, Pogacar's teammate Issac Del Toro struggled during the stage, allowing Olympic champion Remco Evenepoel to take over third place.
