A 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG with just 251 miles on the odometer has sold for a staggering $775,000 on Bring a Trailer.
The winning bid jumped nearly $200,000 over the previous offer in a matter of seconds, sparking immediate disbelief among enthusiasts.

Many assumed a typo or a fat-finger mistake, but the sale has now been confirmed as legitimate by multiple parties.
Record-Breaking Bid
The previous record for a non-Black Series SLS AMG on the platform was $401,000. Even a Black Series model sold for $755,000 in 2022.
The auction had reached $575,000 when a bidder raised it to $576,000. Moments later, a newly registered account entered $775,000, instantly ending the auction.

Bring a Trailer quickly addressed the speculation, stating that the bidder manually entered the amount and confirmed it through a secondary screen, making it a legitimate commitment.
The selling dealer later announced that payment had been received in full. Hagerty Price Guide publisher Dave Kinney confirmed he viewed documentation showing the wire transfer had cleared.
The car originally stickered at $223,345 in 2011, which is about $339,000 after inflation. The sale price is more than double that amount.
