The Labour Party has formally announced Andy Burnham as its new leader during a special conference on Friday.

His appointment as prime minister is scheduled for Monday.

According to The Guardian, Burnham will deliver a speech at the conference before presenting a second address in the south-east of England later in the afternoon.

Vision for the Future

During his address, Burnham will outline his vision to lead a government that focuses on long-neglected national issues.

He stated, "courage to fix the big things that politics has neglected."

The newly appointed leader emphasized his party's dedication to prioritizing the needs of the public. "conviction to argue for our plans," he said.

Burnham also committed to setting clear priorities for the party's future decisions.

"unashamedly Labour in our priorities and in the decisions we take, putting people and places at the heart of everything we do," he added.

During a public session in Cardiff, Burnham highlighted his personal connection to the challenges of the current social care system.

"If there’s one area that I’m going to expend quite of a lot of social capital [on], it’s going to be on social care," he said.

The special conference is scheduled for noon and will feature speeches from several prominent party figures, including Lucy Powell, Shabana Mahmood, and Hollie Ridley, prior to Burnham's afternoon speech at 2:30 p.
