After a week behind the wheel, it's clear Jeep has created a compelling contender, even if it's not the one I'd personally choose.

Design and Styling

The facelifted Grand Wagoneer finally looks like a proper flagship Jeep. Slimmer lighting, a revised grille, and cleaner surfacing give it a distinctive presence from the front.

However, the rear end remains its weakest angle, appearing bloated and disproportionate.

White paint exacerbates the SUV's enormous dimensions, making it look even larger than its 17.8-foot length.

The 22-inch wheels are perfectly proportioned, though, and overall this is the best-looking version of the current generation.

Some cheap piano black plastic mars the center console, and the placement of electronic switches below cupholders seems risky.

But the main infotainment display is responsive, and physical climate controls are a welcome retention.

Under the hood, the standard 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged Hurricane inline-six produces 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque.

Jeep dropped the High Output engine for 2026, but this powertrain still delivers ample performance for daily driving and towing up to 9,810 pounds.

Fuel economy is rated at 18 MPG combined, and real-world testing yielded 15.4 MPG.

The ride is comfortable on pavement, and off-road capability remains impressive for such a large vehicle.

Starting at $97,310, the Grand Wagoneer L is expensive. The as-tested price of $106,890 places it firmly in luxury territory.

It competes with the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, and Range Rover, offering a unique blend of capabilities.

Ultimately, the 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L is a remarkable full-size SUV. It excels on and off the road, pampers occupants, and tows with confidence.
