Jon Bernthal has confirmed he is open to wearing The Punisher's traditional comic costume in future Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, provided the visual change fits the character's emotional journey.

The actor is set to reprise his role as Frank Castle in Spider-Man: Brand New Day following his appearance in The Punisher: One Last Kill.

His previous portrayal in Marvel's Netflix series kept the vigilante in grounded civilian gear and tactical Kevlar vests.

Fans have long questioned whether Castle's MCU storyline would ever incorporate the classic white boots, white gloves, and stark white skull harness featured during the character's 1974 comic debut.

Addressing the potential inclusion of the classic white accessories, Bernthal emphasized that maintaining Castle's core identity remains his primary requirement for any creative decisions regarding the role.

"Look, for me, it always starts with the heart and the integrity of Frank.

If the story demands it, if it makes sense for where he is mentally and what he’s doing, nothing is off the table.

White boots, white gloves—if we can make it real and make it hit with the weight that Frank deserves, I’m all in," Bernthal said.

Bernthal noted that his agreement to return to Marvel depended entirely on preserving Castle's uncompromising nature.
