Apple TV will premiere the second season of its sci-fi series Dark Matter on August 28, 2026, following an announcement at San Diego Comic-Con.
The 10-episode season begins with a single episode, followed by weekly releases through October 30.

The continuation moves past the narrative of Blake Crouch's bestselling novel, which was fully adapted during the first season.
Crouch, who created the show and serves as showrunner, stepped into original storytelling to map out the new episodes alongside executive producer Jacquelyn Ben-Zekry.
Showrunner on Transition to Original Story
Crouch explained the transition to unmapped story arcs during a panel at the convention.
"Season one is based on the book, and we used every available moment and character beat we possibly could because we weren't sure we would do another season," said Crouch.
"And when it came time to look at that blank page [for season two], it was like an endless corridor of doors, and some of them might be bad; some of them could be awesome.
It was our job to figure out how to try to level up what we had done."
"Imagine your home has been taken away [and] your job has been taken away. You've lost all of your friends; you've lost your whole world.
All you have is your family, and that is where the Dessens begin in season two … The whole season is really about being alone and finding the people to embrace and help you get through life, and of course it's bigger, it's badder, it's more emotional than season one, and I cannot wait for you all to see it," added Crouch.
