The New York Mets defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 8-3 on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Citi Field, rallying with two three-run home runs in the late innings.

Tyrone Taylor hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the sixth inning, his eighth of the season, turning a deficit into a lead for the Mets.

In the seventh, Marcus Semien added another three-run blast off the Dodgers bullpen, extending the advantage.

The Mets bullpen—Cionel Pérez, Brooks Raley, and Luke Weaver—combined for four scoreless innings after starter Freddy Peralta struggled through four innings, needing 93 pitches.

Dodgers starter Emmet Sheehan allowed three early hits but settled in, giving up just one run over five innings with five strikeouts before the bullpen faltered.

"That's driven deep down the left field line, right toward the corner," the Mets broadcaster said of Taylor's pivotal homer, which erased the Dodgers' lead.

Despite a strong start from the Dodgers offense, including doubles from Freddie Freeman and Eliezer Alfonzo, they could not hold the lead as the bullpen surrendered two crucial three-run homers.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts pulled Sheehan after five innings and 87 pitches, but the relief corps could not maintain the lead against the Mets' late surge.

Freddie Freeman recorded his fourth consecutive multi-hit game, though the Dodgers managed limited offense late.

Charlie Barnes made his first major league appearance since July 1, pitching a scoreless eighth inning with two strikeouts for the Mets.

The victory halted a potential Dodgers sweep in the season series and improved the Mets' performance ahead of the August 3 trade deadline.
