VfB Stuttgart has reached an agreement with Feyenoord to sign Slovak international winger Leo Sauer.
The initial fee is around €12.5 million, with add-ons potentially raising the total to €15 million.
The 20-year-old had been a target for TSG Hoffenheim, who held direct talks and agreed personal terms with the player through mid-2031.
However, Hoffenheim's multiple financial offers fell short of Feyenoord's asking price.
Stuttgart entered the race late, prompted by the need for an attacking replacement after selling midfielder Bilal El Khannouss to Leicester City for €15 million.
The Bundesliga club moved quickly to secure Sauer's signature.
Sauer's Move to Stuttgart
Sauer has already agreed to personal terms on a multi-year contract with Stuttgart.
His medical examination in Germany is expected to be completed on Monday as both clubs finalize administrative paperwork.
The transfer ends Sauer's three-year stint at Feyenoord. Last season, he recorded four goals and two assists in 28 first-team appearances.
He previously impressed on loan at NAC Breda, where he scored seven goals and provided two assists in 32 matches.
Stuttgart's successful bid outpaces Hoffenheim, who had been in advanced negotiations. The deal highlights Stuttgart's proactive approach in the transfer market following a key sale.
