A Syrian family living in Geesteren, Overijssel, has endured multiple attacks on their property, with the latest incident involving the arson of their car during the night.
Osman al Arab, the father, said the car fire occurred around 2 a. m.

and was witnessed by his nephew, who saw two people fleeing. The vehicle was completely destroyed despite efforts to extinguish the flames.
The family recently moved into a house in the region after years in asylum centers.
Prior to the arson, they had faced three acts of vandalism where stones were thrown through their windows.
Osman expressed shock and concern for his family's safety. "My wife and the children are scared," he said.
The children, aged 1, 3, and 6, are affected by the ongoing threats, with the older ones aware of the hostility.
"My wife no longer wants to live here," Osman added, describing the emotional toll. Neighbors have also shown fear, with some visibly upset following the incidents.
Despite the trauma, Osman refuses to be intimidated. "The perpetrator should not think we are afraid," he stated.
He called the act a loss of conscience and values, condemning the destruction as a crime against both the local community and society.

Police in East Netherlands confirmed that forensic analysis determined the car fire to be arson, though those responsible remain unidentified.
