Team Wales captain Olivia Breen claimed a silver medal in the T38 100m final at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on July 27, 2026, with a season-best time of 12.86 seconds.
The performance secured Wales' first athletics medal of the Games.

Breen, defending her title, finished just behind England's Sophie Hahn. She edged out England's Maddie Down in a photo finish for second place.
Road to the Final
Earlier on July 27, Breen qualified for the final by finishing second in her heat with a time of 13.05 seconds, the third fastest overall in the heats.
She aimed to replicate her success from the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, competing in both the T38 100m and the T38 long jump.
"I'm happy, I'm content," said Breen.
The captain celebrated her 30th birthday on July 26, the day before the sprint event.

Her milestone birthday coincided with returning to Glasgow, where she made her Commonwealth Games debut as an 18-year-old twelve years earlier.
"I didn't want to go all out for the heat, I'm saving myself for the final and I'm excited for later," Breen said before the final.
She spent her birthday with family, saying, "I went to The Ivy with my parents, had a good old Shepherds pie."
The sprint silver is the fourth Commonwealth medal of Breen's career. It brought Wales' total tally in Glasgow to seven medals: two silvers and five bronzes.
In other track and field action, hammer thrower Amber Simpson missed the final.

She placed 13th with a final throw of 59.14 meters after two failed attempts, one spot short of qualifying.
