The BBC has paused the game show Blankety Blank after five series, as host Bradley Walsh's busy filming schedule prevented production from moving forward this year.
Walsh explained that his autumn commitments made it impossible to film the series during its usual production window.

"I just don't have the time, which is sad because I've loved Blankety Blank. It's been one of my favourite shows, and it's been brilliant," Walsh said.
"I would normally go to studio October, but I'm all taken up in October and November, so I just haven't time to do it.
Maybe next year," he added.

Show Format and Availability
The traditional format of Blankety Blank paired six celebrities with four contestants who competed for eccentric rewards, such as inflatable hot tubs and garden sheds, by filling in missing words from various prompts.
Unsuccessful participants received the program's signature consolation prize: the Blankety Blank checkbook and pen.

The BBC declined to comment on the program's hiatus. Previous episodes of the show remain available for streaming on BBC iPlayer.
