Audi officially unveiled its largest flagship vehicle on July 29, 2026, launching the 2027 Audi Q9 alongside a high-performance SQ9 variant aimed at global luxury markets.
The full-size three-row SUV measures 209 inches long with a 123.5-inch wheelbase, positioning it above the Q7 and Q8 to directly compete with the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class.

Powertrain Options
The US-exclusive SQ9 variant features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine generating 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and rear-biased quattro all-wheel drive.
“To me, the most emotional [of the available powertrains globally] is definitely the V8 in the SQ9, an engine we only have in the US.
I'm really happy to have that beautiful engine in the US,” said Roger Biermann, Managing Editor at CarBuzz.
The base Q9 is equipped with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 producing 429 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque for the American market.

European models offer a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel with MHEV-plus mild-hybrid technology, starting at 131,900 Swiss francs.
Technology and Interior
Technological highlights include the world's first curved OLED taillights containing 512 individual segments, digital Matrix LED headlights, and dynamic turn signal projections onto the road surface.
The SUV also features a 1.5-square-meter panoramic glass sunroof.

Interior options provide standard seven-passenger seating or a six-seat arrangement featuring power-adjustable individual captain's chairs, sensor-monitored automatic doors, and a curved OLED MMI panoramic display.
