Television presenter Eva Jinek and her husband Dexter van der Voorn have purchased a historic mansion in The Hague for 2.2 million euros, returning to the city where Jinek grew up.
The couple acquired Villa Emma, a listed national monument built in 1886, located in the prestigious Van Stolkpark neighborhood.

They secured a mortgage exceeding 2.26 million euros for the acquisition and subsequent property updates, according to local real estate outlet BekendeBuren.
Property Details and Renovation
Spanning 361 square meters of living area, the detached residence features a ground floor, an upper level, a right-side attic, and both front and rear gardens.
The attached structure's ground floor formerly served as a garage before being partially integrated into the front room in 1948.
Renovation work on the historic structure has already begun.
Because the property holds national monument status, strict regulations govern all architectural modifications, requiring renovations to maintain original traditional features such as large windows and balconies.
The move follows Jinek's decision to leave the town of Abcoude, where she had purchased a home in 2022 after signing with RTL 4.

Media outlets reported that Jinek struggled to settle in the village and wished to live closer to her elderly parents in The Hague.
Jinek partially funded the purchase after selling a beachside apartment in Noordwijk aan Zee, which generated an estimated 120,000 euros in profit.
Her former residence in Abcoude has not yet been placed on the real estate market.
During a discussion about his own departure from Abcoude, television executive Peter van der Vorst recounted incidents of local intolerance.
"We had a window broken, and I also experienced coming home late after a TV taping to find a group of youths outside shouting very unpleasant things in this regard," said van der Vorst.

The Hague villa currently holds an energy rating of G, which is expected to improve significantly upon completion of the ongoing structural and interior renovations.
