A heavily camouflaged prototype of the next Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series has been spotted on public roads in Spain, looking even more extreme than previous spy shots suggested.
The new Black Series is expected to resemble a GT3 race car more than a road car, with a dramatic aero kit including a massive rear wing, enlarged grille, splitter, canards, and a custom hood with large air intakes.

Race-Inspired Design
Along the sides, the prototype features fat side skirts, side-exiting tailpipes, and large vents behind the front wheels for improved aerodynamics.
At the rear, a swan-neck style wing sits even higher than the one on the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, accompanied by a radical diffuser.
Despite the aggressive aero, the prototype was seen getting stuck behind a slow-moving cyclist on a twisty mountain road.

Powertrain Expectations
Under the hood, Mercedes-AMG is expected to fit the new 4.0-liter flat-plane crank twin-turbo V8.
This engine currently produces 612 hp and 850 Nm in the GT 63 Pro, or 816 hp and 1,420 Nm with the plug-in hybrid setup in the GT 63 S E Performance.
Given AMG's focus on weight reduction, the Black Series is unlikely to adopt the PHEV route.

The previous AMG GT Black Series lapped the Nürburgring in 6:48.04, and the new model is expected to be quicker, though it likely won't beat the AMG One's record of 6:29.09.
