BMW Group Plant Debrecen reached a major production milestone on July 28, 2026, assembling its 50,000th iX3 electric SUV just nine months after series production began in late October 2025.
The achievement marks the fastest production ramp-up of a new assembly facility in the automaker's history.

To meet surging demand, the Hungarian plant added a second production shift in February 2026, well ahead of its original schedule.
Customer orders for the first series-production model of the Neue Klasse family are approaching 100,000 units.
The facility in eastern Hungary currently holds an annual capacity to produce up to 150,000 vehicles at full operation.
The company expanded the lineup with the single-motor iX3 40 alongside the dual-motor iX3 50 xDrive launch model.
In the U. S.
market, the model starts at $61,500 plus a $1,350 destination fee, featuring an 800-volt architecture and up to 434 miles of EPA-rated range.
Strategic Role in Global EV Expansion
Executive leadership highlighted the strategic role of the new factory in scaling the company's next-generation EV architecture across its global network.
Raymond Wittmann, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Production, said: "The 50,000th BMW iX3 underscores the capabilities of our plant in Debrecen: Never before have we built so many vehicles so quickly at a new plant.
