Operators are also arranging alternative transport home for passengers unable to finish routes at their original departure points.
"Our passengers always arrive by bus or train to the ship. We find a good alternative so they can also return home by bus or train.
But it will not be at the place where they boarded," Captain Bruins Slot added.
Passengers Adapt to Change
Passengers aboard diverted ships have adjusted to the sudden change in travel plans, taking advantage of local stops.

"There are no mountains here," laughed Ursula, a passenger from Thuringia, East Germany, who originally booked a trip toward Basel.
Despite the change, she noted the flat terrain suited her current needs.
"But it's good, because I can no longer walk well in the mountains. I also like it very much here.
Here I especially like the cheese," Ursula said.
She expressed confidence about returning to Germany by the end of the week, noting her car was in the garage there.
Other passengers welcomed the unexpected Dutch itinerary and mild weather conditions.
"Everything is great.
We were here before and saw the Markthal and the market and did a little shopping," said Andrea, another German passenger on board.
She spent her time on deck while awaiting updates on the remaining journey.
"The weather is super and now we can sit on the boat and enjoy the sun and nice food.
Apple pie and coffee," Andrea said.
She added that their return destination remains uncertain pending water level changes.
"Saturday we might go back to Cologne, if the water is high enough," she said.
She acknowledged that backup transportation plans might be necessary.
"Otherwise we might have to get off in Düsseldorf. We will see," Andrea said.
Some travelers remained unbothered by the hydrological causes behind the detour.
"We don't notice it here. I thought: in the Netherlands something always washes in from the North Sea.

I don't know," said Wolfgang from Sauerland, who was traveling on the same cruise.
