The former Speelstad Oranje amusement park in Drenthe is set to be sold at an executive auction on September 22, 2026.
Notary firm AKD is handling the sale to help settle the outstanding debts of founder Hennie van der Most.

The forced liquidation follows the earlier auction of Van der Most's Rotterdam attraction park, Rivoli, which recently opened under new ownership as Spelen bij Beelen.
Revenue from the Rivoli transaction was insufficient to cover all remaining obligations.
Property Details and Potential Uses
Situated in the village of Oranje, the 12,988-square-meter property is zoned for recreational use.
The complex features former hospitality spaces, parking areas, outdoor grounds, and an unfinished hotel section containing roughly 21 rooms.
Future development options depend on local municipal approval and planning regulations.

Potential uses include leisure, care concepts, short-stay lodging, or other recreational facilities.
Originally converted from a potato starch factory, the indoor park closed in 2015 following falling attendance and persistent financial losses.
Subsequent plans for a grand reopening stalled, leaving the facility vacant.
The adjacent Vakantiepark Oranje was sold to a real estate firm in 2021 after serving as an asylum seeker shelter, and it is excluded from this auction.
