A rare 1967 Bizzarrini GT America 2+2 prototype is set to cross the auction block, with estimates placing its value between $400,000 and $500,000.

The sale is scheduled for October 2 at Broad Arrow's Audrain Auction in Newport, Rhode Island.

This grand tourer first appeared at the 1968 Turin Motor Show and remains a highly sought-after example from the Italian marque.

Bizzarrini operated from 1964 and produced roughly 140 cars over a five-year span, making any surviving model a notable find.

Corvette V8 and Lightweight Construction

Under the hood sits a 327 CID (5.4L) V8 engine sourced from a Chevy Corvette, rated at approximately 355 hp (265 kW / 360 PS).

Power reaches the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox.

The chassis also features disc brakes, an independent front suspension, and a de Dion rear axle.

Its odometer reads 5,452 km (3,388 miles), and the car underwent restoration in 2008 after changing hands multiple times.

The aluminum body is painted in Champagne Metallic and accented by chrome bumpers, metallic trim, and magnesium wheels.

Exterior cues include front fender vents, what appear to be pop-up headlights, circular taillights, and a four-tailpipe exhaust.

Inside, brown leather upholstery covers a minimalist cabin with a wood-rimmed steering wheel and classic gauges.

Power windows, toggle switches, and a front passenger grab handle are also present.

The rear compartment offers two seats split by a wide center console, with legroom that appears tight but likely adequate for small children.
