Daihatsu has introduced a series of quiet model-year updates for its Move and Move Canbus kei vans in Japan, bringing enhanced safety technology and a digital instrument cluster to both models.
The retro-styled Move Canbus gains the most attention with new customization options that allow buyers to mix and match exterior and interior themes.

The new Interior Selection editions let owners combine the vibrant bi-tone exterior of the Stripes line with the dark brown and blue cabin of the Theory line, or pair the monochrome Theory exterior with the white and turquoise interior from the Stripes.
Two optional styling packages are also available: the Urban Grace Style for the Stripes Interior Selection adds chrome accents on the hood, tailgate, and mirror caps, plus dark brown and black seat covers.
The Retro Pop Style equips the Theory Interior Selection with gunmetal inserts and chrome emblems outside, and marble-look Ceramic Green inserts inside.
Daihatsu has expanded the color palette with the addition of Smooth Grey / Grace Brown bi-tone for the Stripes model and Ceramic Green for the Theory trim.
No changes were announced for the regular Move, which launched in mid-2025 after a two-year delay. The current second-generation Move Canbus has been on sale since mid-2022.
Improved Safety and Digital Cluster
Both kei cars now feature an upgraded Smart Assist active safety suite that can detect crossing cyclists, oncoming vehicles when turning right at intersections, and pedestrians crossing during left or right turns.
