Actor Keith David has expressed optimism about a potential second season for Prime Video's Civil War drama The Gray House, though Amazon has not yet announced a renewal.
The eight-part limited series, executive produced by Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman, follows four women who operated an Underground Railroad spy ring in the Confederate capital during the American Civil War.

Premiering in February, the show ranked on Prime Video's Top 10 streaming chart for several weeks.
However, critical reception was mixed: it holds a 42% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 68% audience rating, with reviewers citing historical inaccuracies and narrative choices.
David on Expanding the Story
Speaking about his interest in continuing the series, David highlighted the wealth of undisclosed American history available for future episodes.
"Wow. Wouldn't that be wonderful?
Because, again, there's a lot to unpack," David said.

"The thing about the revelation of American history—the stuff that we don't know and haven't been privy to—there's so much of that.
It would be a wonderful palette, something to explore."
David admitted he has no internal updates on a renewal but noted that undisclosed historical events offer ample material for further development.
The series arrived amid shifting priorities for Costner, who left his lead role on Yellowstone to focus on his multi-part Western film series Horizon: An American Saga.
