Hull City has made an 18 million euro transfer bid to sign Rayo Vallecano defender Nobel Mendy ahead of their Premier League return.
The English club is aggressively building its squad for the upcoming season, which begins with a match against Manchester United on August 22, 2026.

Transfer Details
According to reports on El Chiringuito, Hull City's offer exceeds the previous bid of nearly 15 million euros from Eintracht Frankfurt, which Rayo Vallecano rejected.
Journalist Matteo Moretto confirmed that the Spanish side turned down the German club's proposal.
The 21-year-old Senegalese international recently signed permanently with Rayo Vallecano from Real Betis for around 3 million euros, extending his contract until June 2030.
Real Betis retained a 20 percent sell-on clause, meaning they would benefit financially if the transfer goes through.

Rayo Vallecano initially planned to keep Mendy as a key defensive pillar after he played 24 matches and accumulated over 1,800 minutes in La Liga last season.
Sky Sports reports that Hull City is also working to secure FC Augsburg midfielder Mert Kömür, as the Tigers aim to recruit 12 new players before the summer transfer window closes.
Hull City has already signed Jack Butland, Matt Targett, Oscar Zambrano, and Hidemasa Morita.
Mendy was previously valued at around 4 million euros when Scottish side Rangers explored signing him last summer, but his strong performances in Spain have significantly boosted his market value.

Rangers ultimately signed Ben Godfrey on loan with an option to buy to address their defensive needs, while Hull City continues pursuing Mendy to finalize their backline ahead of the top-flight campaign.
