Lexus is taking luxury mobility to new heights with the launch of Lexus Flight, a dedicated helicopter charter service in Japan.

The service will begin on August 24, operated in partnership with Aero Toyota.

It uses a modified Leonardo AW169 twin-turbine helicopter, aiming to seamlessly connect travel across land, sea, and air.

This move follows Lexus's recent concept of a futuristic six-wheeled minivan, but now the brand is leaving the road entirely.

Helicopter Details and Amenities

The custom helicopter is built on the Italian Leonardo AW169 platform.

Twin Pratt & Whitney Canada PW210A1 turboshaft engines provide a maximum cruising speed of 267 km/h (166 mph) and a range of up to 785 km (488 miles).

The aircraft measures 14.65 meters (48.1 ft) long, 3.21 meters (10.5 ft) wide, and 4.56 meters (15.0 ft) tall.

Its light-toned cabin seats up to seven passengers, with interior cues inspired by a premium Lexus SUV.

Passengers enjoy more space and better views than any road car could offer.

Amenities include Wi-Fi, a live exterior camera feed, real-time flight tracking, and a dedicated tablet for controlling cabin lighting, climate, and entertainment.

Lexus Flight can be paired with the LY680 luxury yacht, allowing a journey that combines cars, boat, and helicopter without switching brands.

Currently, the service is exclusive to Japan, with no plans announced for North America or Europe.
