East and Middle Tennessee are bracing for two rounds of severe storms on Saturday, bringing localized flooding and damaging winds, according to WVLT and FOX 17 reports.
The first wave of storms will start in western Tennessee counties during the morning and move eastward throughout the day, with the strongest storms expected over the Cumberland Plateau.

A second, more intense round is forecast for Saturday evening into the overnight hours.
Storm Risks and Timing
WVLT weather forecasters highlight the risks of straight-line winds and localized flooding. They also note a low but non-zero chance of brief tornado activity during the evening storms.
"Rain and storm chances will increase as a cold front approaches the region," said WVLT meteorologists.
"The main impacts of these storms will include localized flooding and straight-line winds. There is also a low-end risk of a brief spin-up."

FOX 17's Code Red Weather Alert places areas east of Interstate 65 at a Level 2 risk for severe storms Saturday afternoon and evening, with damaging wind gusts and isolated heavy rainfall as primary threats.
"While the tornado threat is very low, it cannot be completely ruled out," FOX 17 reported, cautioning that flooding risk remains low despite heavy rain.
Storm activity is expected to persist into early Sunday but will diminish to scattered showers by afternoon.
Temperatures are forecast to stabilize in the mid-80s, with typical summer weather returning Monday featuring mostly dry conditions and highs in the low to mid-80s.

Temperatures are projected to gradually rise through the week, reaching the upper 80s by Friday, as noted by WVLT.
