Hennessey has unveiled its third hypercar, the Blackbird, and it's a radical departure from the norm.
Instead of chasing top-speed records, the Texas-based company is betting on pure driver engagement.
The Blackbird is powered by a new 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 developed with Ilmor.
It's expected to produce between 800 and 850 horsepower and rev past 9,000 rpm.
Power goes exclusively to the rear wheels through a six-speed gated manual transmission.
Hennessey targets a 0-60 mph time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 220 mph.
A Cabin Stripped of Screens
Inside, there are no infotainment screens, no digital instrument cluster, and no steering-wheel buttons. Instead, drivers get a large analog tachometer, physical switches, and an exposed shift linkage.
There's even a traditional ignition key. Smartphone connectivity, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, is handled through the driver's own device.
Despite its analog focus, the Blackbird isn't a stripped-out track special. It features adaptive suspension, luggage space for two carry-on bags, and four cupholders.
Hennessey says it's refined enough to cover more than 800 miles in a single day.
Production is limited to just 71 examples, with prices starting at $2.5 million before taxes.
More than two-thirds of the run is already allocated ahead of its public debut at The Quail on August 14.
Customer deliveries are expected to begin between 2029 and 2030.
