The compact Elantra sedan led the charge with a 39 percent surge to 17,115 units, making it Hyundai's second-best-selling model behind the Tucson, which rose 20 percent to 19,714 deliveries.
The Sonata also enjoyed a strong month, up 18 percent.
Electric Models Struggle
While gas-powered sedans thrived, Hyundai's electric lineup faced steep declines.
The Ioniq 5 slipped 38 percent to 3,636 units, and the larger Ioniq 9 dropped 35 percent after its initial launch buzz faded.

The Ioniq 6 nearly vanished from the sales chart, with registrations tumbling 92 percent to just 76 units, though that's partly because the regular model was discontinued in 2026.
Hybrid demand, however, jumped 35 percent, setting another July record.
Hyundai noted that electrified vehicles accounted for one-third of all retail sales during the month, helped by record hybrid performances from the Tucson, Sonata, and Elantra.
SUVs continued to carry the brand, representing 73 percent of July volume. The Palisade and Santa Fe saw slight dips but remained strong sellers.
