A unique BMW M4 pickup conversion has sold for $93,000 at auction, a figure that exceeds the starting price of a brand-new M4 Competition xDrive.
The one-off vehicle, dubbed the M4 Maloo, was built by California-based DinMann and crossed the digital auction block on Bring a Trailer.

It started life as a 2022 M4 Competition xDrive coupe, which was purchased new specifically for the conversion project.
Inspired by BMW Prototypes
The builder drew inspiration from the 1986 BMW E30 M3 Ute prototype and the 2011 E92 M3 Pickup concept.
The project was first unveiled at the 2022 SEMA show, where it attracted significant attention from BMW enthusiasts.
The conversion was completed in just six weeks, a frantic pace to meet the SEMA deadline.
Since then, the truck has been refinished from its original bright metallic blue wrap to a Brooklyn Gray Metallic paint.
The rear section of the roof was removed, along with interior trim behind the front seats.
A tubular steel subframe was welded in beneath a custom cargo bed, with reinforced C-pillars and a tailgate featuring a carbon fiber insert.

The M4 Maloo also wears a carbon fiber bodykit, including a sharper splitter, wide fenders with carbon gills, side skirts, a shorter carbon roof, and a rear diffuser with quad tailpipes.
It sits on lowering springs and rolls on 19-inch front and 20-inch rear M Performance forged alloy wheels, with M Compound brakes and red calipers.
