More than three years after GM announced it would drop smartphone mirroring from its EVs, the 2027 Cadillac models still list both systems as standard equipment.

GM's next-generation combustion models are also expected to lose these features.
For many car buyers, smartphone mirroring is essential.
The initial announcement in 2023 surprised many, as GM planned to replace these systems with its own infotainment platform.
GM's Evolving Strategy
Recent online configurators for several 2027 Cadillac models still show Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.
A Cadillac representative told CarBuzz that the company is "continuing to evolve its infotainment strategy across the EV portfolio, based on customer feedback, while also prioritizing the native, in-vehicle experience."
In late July, Cadillac started rolling out updated infotainment software for new models.

The update includes larger icons for frequently used functions and a new queue feature for paid streaming services like Spotify.
Graphics and text for head-up displays have also been sharpened, and owners can now assign two user profiles to different seat memory buttons.
GM's shift away from smartphone mirroring is slow but ongoing.
Late last year, CEO Mary Barra said that both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto would be dropped from combustion models starting in 2028, with a new centralized computing platform taking over.
This would give GM full control over the infotainment experience and enable more subscription services.
