Ferrari has introduced the 296 GT Modificata, a track-only model that pushes the 296 platform beyond racing regulations.
It is based on the 296 GT3 Evo but drops the rulebook to deliver unrestricted performance for a select group of customers.
Production is limited to members of the Club Competizioni GT programme, and the car succeeds the 488 GT Modificata from 2020.
Design and Aerodynamics
Visually, the 296 GT Modificata closely resembles the 2025 296 GT3 Evo, which itself followed the original 296 GT3 from 2022.
Key differences include more subtle front bumper canards, a more pronounced splitter, tweaked intakes, custom tailpipes, and a redesigned rear wing with larger endplates inspired by the 499P.
The track-only model retains the dramatic gills on the fenders, the vented hood, and the nose-mounted LEDs from its racing counterparts.
It also rides on 18-inch alloy wheels shod in slick tires.
The show car features a unique livery combining yellow, silver, and white graphics with exposed carbon fiber bits.
A notable touch is the diagonal lines on the rear fenders that extend onto the rear wing.
Owners can personalize the appearance with help from the Ferrari Design Studio.
Inside, the stripped-out cabin and bucket seat with racing harnesses are derived from the GT3 car.
Ferrari managed to add a passenger seat by tweaking the integrated roll cage, allowing owners to share the experience or participate in track days with an instructor.
