Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire has presented a lucrative multi-year contract offer to Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, according to multiple reports.
The offer was made on June 28, 2026, as Lewandowski's agreement with FC Barcelona nears its expiration after four seasons in Spain.
Contract Details Revealed
Journalist Tomasz Włodarczyk of Meczyki disclosed the financial terms during a broadcast.
The proposal includes at least a two-year deal worth €20 million per season, comprising €15 million in base salary plus €5 million in bonuses.
"There is an offer on the table, from what I know it is at least a two-year contract, 20 million euros per season - 15 million euros plus five million in bonuses, but in my opinion, this offer can still be improved all the time to simply tempt Lewandowski," Włodarczyk said.
The substantial financial package reflects Chicago Fire's determination to secure the striker's signature.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Lewandowski has made a definitive decision to join the American league.
The Polish national team captain is expected to officially sign the new agreement early next week, securing his future for at least the next two seasons.
Lewandowski previously considered a move to Saudi Arabia as his initial priority before engaging in direct talks with the MLS side.
The veteran forward chose the American destination after his stint in Spain.
