The aircraft was owned and operated by Aramco, the world's largest oil company, which is majority state-owned.

The incident comes as Aramco has been adjusting its logistics operations due to the ongoing conflict with Iran, which has disrupted traditional oil supply routes and driven up global oil prices.
To navigate these challenges, Aramco redirected some of its oil exports via an overland pipeline, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran has recently tightened control over vessels passing through that critical maritime chokepoint.
