Newcastle United has completed the signing of 20-year-old winger Bazoumana Toure from German Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim, the club announced on Sunday.

The transfer fee is reported at £42 million, making Toure the second most expensive Ivorian player in history behind Nicolas Pepe.

Toure becomes the first outfield addition for Newcastle this summer, following the arrival of goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen.

The signings come after the departures of key players Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.

The Ivorian international contributed five goals and several assists last season, helping Hoffenheim finish fifth and qualify for the UEFA Europa League.

He also made three appearances for Ivory Coast at the recent FIFA World Cup.

Player and Manager Reactions

"I'm very, very happy to be here.

It was my dream since I was young to play in the Premier League for a big team like Newcastle," Toure said.

He added that the club's family atmosphere will help him perform at his best.

Head Coach Eddie Howe expressed satisfaction with the signing, highlighting Toure's experience in a top European league and at the World Cup.

"We feel that he's a player with a really high ceiling," Howe stated.

Sporting Director Ross Wilson noted that the club had been working on the transfer for weeks while Toure was at the World Cup.

He thanked Hoffenheim for their professionalism in the negotiations.
