Newly signed Swiss midfielder Geraldine Reuteler has expressed immense pride and outlined her ambitions to win trophies during her first official interview at the Sobha Realty Training Centre.

The box-to-box midfielder joined Arsenal from Eintracht Frankfurt after a lengthy tenure in Germany.

She is now looking forward to adjusting to life in England and competing in front of the club's fanbase.

Pride and Ambition

"It means so much," Reuteler said. "I can't put it into words.

Arsenal is one of the best clubs in the world and I'm so proud that I can be here."

Reflecting on her development over the last eight years at Frankfurt, she scored 40 goals in 146 domestic league appearances and honed her technical skills before making the move to the English top flight.

"It was really nice," she reflected. "It was my first professional move.

It became my second home. I spent a nice time there.

I could grow up personally and also football-wise."

She described herself as a box-to-box player with good technique and a good overview.

The Swiss international noted she is already familiar with North London, having played alongside national teammate Lia Walti and faced Arsenal in a pre-season fixture.

"It's a great team with great players," Reuteler said. "I like the way Arsenal plays.

I think it fits me - just nice football, I would say."

At international level, Reuteler highlighted representing Switzerland as hosts during Euro 2025 as a career highlight.

"It was, I think, the highlight of my career so far," she said. "It was crazy just playing at home in front of so many fans.

The whole stadium was red. All of my friends could be there, my family.

It was really a crazy experience."

Looking ahead to her new chapter in the Women's Super League, Reuteler expressed enthusiasm about experiencing life in England and continuing her professional growth.

"I'm excited about it," she said.

"I've not been to England much before, so I'm excited about how the weather is here and about living here.

I want to become a better football player and win trophies."

Having witnessed the English football atmosphere during the European Championship last year, the midfielder spoke positively about playing in front of large crowds.

"I think it's always a good thing to play in front of a lot of fans, I love it.

I saw it in the Euros last year. That was really nice.

I'm excited about it," Reuteler said.

She concluded by emphasizing her immediate competitive goals with the club.

"I want to win games, I want to score goals, and I want to help the team," she said.
