Manchester United academy graduate Tyler Fredricson has completed a permanent transfer to Swiss Super League side FC Lausanne-Sport.
The 21-year-old center-back signed a long-term agreement extending through June 30, 2029.
The transfer includes a buy-back option for Manchester United alongside a high-percentage sell-on clause.
Both clubs operate under the ownership structure of INEOS, which facilitated the move following midfielder Sekou Kone's recent loan return to the Swiss side.
Fredricson came through the youth ranks after joining Old Trafford at the under-nine level.
He played every round leading up to the 2022 FA Youth Cup final before illness ruled him out of the title match.
He made his senior debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers on April 20, 2025, and subsequently earned the Denzil Haroun Reserve-Team Player of the Year award.
Fredricson amassed four senior appearances for United before his departure.
Manchester United released an official statement confirming the transfer details. "Tyler Fredricson has agreed a permanent transfer to Lausanne-Sport, subject to registration," the club stated.
United highlighted his journey through the academy system in south Manchester.
"A lifelong Red from south Manchester, he worked diligently while proudly rising through the ranks of our world-famous youth system," the statement added.
The club acknowledged his contribution during the 2022 FA Youth Cup run.
"The 21-year-old played in every round of our 2022 FA Youth Cup campaign as the side reached the final, before illness prevented him from playing in the showpiece occasion against Nottingham Forest," United said.
United outlined his first-team competitive fixtures across domestic competitions.
"The defender made his first-team debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 20 April 2025 and went on to make further appearances against Brentford, Grimsby Town and Newcastle United," the statement continued.
United praised the defender's character and recent individual accolades.
"Joining the club at Under-9 level, Tyler has been a model professional throughout his time with the club and a popular member of our Academy squads.
His place in United's history books is also secured as a recipient of the prestigious Denzil Haroun Reserve-Team Player of the Year award in 2025," United stated.
The statement referenced Lausanne-Sport's league campaign and organizational changes.
"Lausanne finished ninth in the Swiss Super League last season, and they hope to progress this term following July's appointment of new head coach Luka Elsner," United added.
United concluded its announcement with well wishes for the defender.
"Everybody at United thanks Tyler for all his efforts during his time with the club and we wish him all the best for the next chapter of his career," United said.
In a social media farewell message, Manchester United shared a direct quote reflecting the player's transition. "United is all ever known.
But now it's time for a new adventure," the post read.
FC Lausanne-Sport also issued a formal announcement welcoming the center-back to Switzerland.
"FC Lausanne-Sport is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with Manchester United for the permanent transfer of English central defender Tyler Fredricson," the club stated.
The Swiss club detailed the contractual parameters of the transfer. "The player has signed with the club until June 30, 2029," FC Lausanne-Sport added.
Lausanne emphasized the top-flight experience Fredricson brings to their squad.
"At just 21 years old, he joins FC Lausanne-Sport with rare experience for a player of his age, acquired within one of the most prestigious clubs in the world and enriched by two starts in the Premier League," the club stated.
FC Lausanne-Sport expressed optimism regarding his integration into the team under Luka Elsner.
"FC Lausanne-Sport is delighted to be able to support Tyler Fredricson in the next stage of his career and welcomes him to Lausanne and wishes him every success in the blue and white colours," the club said.
