Sheffield Wednesday have completed the signing of goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer on a free transfer, making him the club's 11th summer addition.
The 27-year-old Australian has agreed to a one-year contract with the Owls. He brings experience from Charlton Athletic and Dundee United, among other clubs.
Maynard-Brewer was part of the Charlton side that won promotion from League One in 2025, making 19 appearances and featuring on the bench for the play-off final at Wembley against Leyton Orient.
He expressed his excitement about joining, saying: "I'm super happy to be here. It seems like a really positive environment.
I had a good chat with Darryl Flahavan last week and he just sounded so optimistic about the season."
He added: "I'm really excited about the next few weeks and really getting to work with the guys, they are very welcoming.
Obviously, with being part of a big club, there's responsibility that comes with that and the high expectations, which is to get out of this league and get promoted."
Sporting director Simon Wilson highlighted Maynard-Brewer's extensive EFL experience, noting his eight seasons at Charlton and his adaptability through various development loans.
Wilson said: "At 27, Ash has significant experience playing in the EFL, having spent eight seasons at Charlton Athletic.
He has been a part of successful teams - either as a number one or two - and tested himself in different environments through several development loans.
We believe he will be a great addition to our squad and add important competition to our goalkeeping ranks as we prepare for the challenges ahead."
Maynard-Brewer follows Connal Trueman, who joined on a free transfer 24 hours earlier. The club now has three senior goalkeepers, including Joe Lumley.
The goalkeeper department was reinforced following the departure of Pierce Charles to Manchester City and the end of Murphy Cooper's loan spell.
In addition to Charlton and Dundee United, Maynard-Brewer has had loan spells at Chelmsford City, Hampton & Richmond Borough, Dulwich Hamlet, Dover Athletic, Ross County, and Gillingham.
Sheffield Wednesday are scheduled to play two friendly matches on Saturday against Accrington Stanley and Oldham Athletic, with Maynard-Brewer possibly featuring.
