Aberdeen has completed the signing of former Scotland international defender Chris Cadden from Hibernian on a two-year contract.
The transfer fee remains undisclosed, and the move was finalized on July 31, 2026.
The 29-year-old right-back becomes the club's 12th arrival of the summer transfer window, bringing extensive Scottish Premiership experience to Pittodrie.
Cadden spent five-and-a-half seasons at Hibernian, making 166 appearances in all competitions.
During his time at Easter Road, he helped the club achieve third-place league finishes and reach domestic cup finals, and he also scored against FK Partizan in European competition.
His departure from Hibernian came after concerns over guaranteed game time, as Felix Passlack was assigned the starting right-back role.

Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with Cadden, having previously managed him at Motherwell.
"Chris is a brilliant addition to our group, not just because of what he'll bring on the pitch, but because of the character and professionalism he'll add to the dressing room," said Robinson.
Robinson highlighted Cadden's versatility and familiarity with the Scottish top flight as crucial assets for the upcoming campaign.

The Dons boss noted that Cadden possesses strong offensive drive combined with defensive consistency.
"He has a great engine, always shows a willingness to get forward and support the attack, but he's also matured into a really dependable full-back defensively.
I know him very well and I'm excited to work with him again.

Cadden shared his thoughts on joining the Dons and working under Robinson once again.

The right-back pointed to the manager's vision as a major factor in his decision to move to the North-east.
"Having worked with the manager before I know the scale of his ambition and what he is looking to achieve.
His passion and vision for the team were clear, and it was something I really wanted to be part of," said Cadden.
He expressed readiness to begin his new career chapter ahead of Aberdeen's season opener.

Hibernian manager David Gray paid tribute to the departing defender's contribution to the Edinburgh club.
"Cadds has been a brilliant servant to this Club for a number of years.
The energy, consistency, professionalism and the way he has conducted himself every day has helped set the standard for new players and young lads coming through," said Gray.
Gray explained the reasons behind Cadden's departure from Easter Road.
"Unfortunately we couldn't offer him as much game time as he would've liked here, and at this stage of his career - we understand that he wants to maximize his playing opportunities.
He leaves with the very best wishes from all the coaching staff, players and everyone associated with the Club," said Gray.
Hibernian Sporting Director Malky Mackay also offered words of praise for Cadden following the completion of the transfer.
"I would like to wish Chris and his family all the very best with the next step of his career.

Mackay emphasized the positive legacy Cadden leaves behind in Edinburgh.

Aberdeen Chief Executive Alan Burrows previously indicated on RedTV that the squad was finalizing additional transfer business while managing potential player exits before opening their league campaign against Hearts.
