President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that a historic agreement was reached for the total disarmament of armed groups in Gaza.
However, ongoing military exchanges outside Gaza threaten to expand the geographical scope of the broader conflict.
Hamas Conditions for Disarmament
Ghazi Hamad, a key negotiator for Hamas, stated to CNN that weapons steps depend entirely on Israeli compliance.
Hamad explained that Israeli forces must halt attacks, pull back to designated lines, permit humanitarian aid, and allow a Palestinian technocratic committee to enter Gaza.
"The agreement is a package," said Ghazi Hamad. "We will not begin any weapons-related steps until Israel implements these commitments.
Frankly, if Israel does not implement them, we will not proceed."
Hamad emphasized that light weapons belonging to local police will transfer to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, whereas heavy weaponry will be placed in monitored storage rather than destroyed.
"Our experience with the first phase was very bad. Israel did not abide by the agreement and there were," said Ghazi Hamad.
Iranian Drone Strike on Kuwait Base
Despite the Gaza truce roadmap, Iranian military forces launched a drone strike against Kuwait's Ahmad Al-Jaber airbase on July 31.
The Iranian military confirmed via Tasnim news agency that the attack targeted U. S.
hangars, satellite communication systems, and equipment warehouses in response to prior U. S.
strikes on Qeshm Island.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul described the disarmament progress as hopeful, urging the immediate opening of additional humanitarian supply routes into Gaza.

First Secretary of State Louise Haigh also welcomed the news while noting that international leaders await Israel's official response.
"Obviously we will need to await the Israeli government's response," said Louise Haigh.
Regional Tensions Persist
Simultaneously, regional tensions continue across multiple fronts.
Iranian-backed Houthis have enforced a maritime blockade in the Red Sea, while recent drone strikes have hit maritime targets in Egypt's Port of Damietta and opposition camps in northern Iraq.
Retired Navy SEAL Mike Sarraille warned on Fox & Friends First that Iran is also executing asymmetric tactics, leveraging cyberattacks against critical infrastructure such as Egyptian systems and municipal water facilities in Minnesota.
President Trump is scheduled to convene a high-stakes Cabinet meeting at Camp David to address ongoing military developments and regional security strategies.
