Regional Mexican singer Victor Antonio Valverde was wounded in an armed attack inside a Chinese restaurant in Culiacan, Sinaloa, on September 24, 2026.
The shooting left one man dead and seven people injured, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred around 7:50 p. m.
at the Tai Pak restaurant along Enrique Sanchez Alonso Boulevard in the Tres Rios Urban Development district.
Emergency services rushed the victims to local medical facilities shortly after gunfire erupted in the commercial area.
Victims and Investigation
The Sinaloa Secretariat of Public Security confirmed that security forces secured the establishment after finding one deceased male and seven injured patrons.
Authorities identified the fatal victim as Ruben "N," while law enforcement officers placed the surrounding commercial center under guard.
Official reports identified the seven injured individuals as 22-year-old Victor Antonio Valverde, 32-year-old Maria "N," 24-year-old Ruben "N," 20-year-old Jair Eliseo "N," 23-year-old Edgar Jair "N," 20-year-old Israel "N," and 21-year-old Angel "N."
Local outlets reported that Valverde suffered a gunshot wound to his left shoulder during the assault.
Medical personnel transported the singer to a Culiacan hospital, though officials have not released further details regarding his current medical condition.
Valverde, an Eldorado native who grew up in Culiacan, gained national prominence with his regional Mexican song "El Mayor de las Ranas."
Hours prior to the shooting, the artist posted promotional material on Instagram for his latest single, "Algobierno."
