Perez Overcomes Setbacks
Perez previously suffered a three-fight losing streak after dropping a title fight to Deiveson Figueiredo.
He rebounded by defeating Matheus Nicolau via technical knockout but then faced a 526-day layoff due to an ACL injury sustained against Tatsuro Taira.
Upon returning, he lost by submission to Asu Almabayev in Doha and missed weight ahead of his next booking against Charles Johnson.
However, Perez bounced back with a definitive victory over Johnson, which concluded his existing contract and allowed him to re-sign with the organization.
“It just shows that the company values what I bring and what I do in the cage.
So I'm just grateful for the opportunity to get a new contract,” Perez said.
The victory gave Perez confidence as he shifts focus toward climbing back into championship contention. He emphasized maintaining short-term memory regarding past setbacks, including his missed weight.

“It's kind of almost easier to have short-term memory. So when something like that happens, you just have to forget about it,” Perez said.
Perez also relies on his support network to navigate career injuries and defeats.
“I just rely on my friends and family to get me through those tough times,” he added.
Currently ranked No. 11 in the flyweight division, Perez outlined a straightforward strategy: “I just want to keep winning, and they can't deny me.”
His opponent, Mudaerji, enters on a multi-fight winning streak and has faced high-level global competition. Perez anticipates a fan-friendly kickboxing battle.
