Seattle SuperSonics legend Jack Sikma believes San Antonio Spurs phenom Victor Wembanyama is on track to become one of the greatest big men in basketball history.
Sikma, an NBA champion in 1979, shared his insights with John Hollinger of The Athletic.

He pointed to Wembanyama's ability to stretch the floor, score from all three levels, and deliver historic defensive performances.
“It’s amazing. The bigs grow up learning how to handle.
Two dribbles was about my limit. The whole approach has changed as far as skill development,” Sikma said.
Wembanyama sets screens, secures rebounds, and executes plays from the perimeter, making him effective from almost any spot on the court.

Sikma noted that teams like the New York Knicks will struggle immensely against the 7-foot-5 center in future NBA Finals matchups.
Opponents including the Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Oklahoma City Thunder have already tried to neutralize him but failed.
Wembanyama also displays profound emotional leadership, according to Sikma.
“You’ve got to be athletic, you’ve got to be able to move now. But being 7-5 helps,” the legend added.
