Ajax manager Míchel held preliminary transfer discussions with Girona winger Viktor Tsygankov on Thursday, June 4, 2026, to convince the Ukrainian international to join the Dutch club, as reported by Spanish sports newspaper Diario AS.
The 28-year-old attacker wants to leave Girona following their recent relegation to LaLiga2, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Girona is willing to facilitate a departure if an interested club meets their €10 million valuation.
Spanish media outlet MARCA noted that Tsygankov represents a significant component of Míchel's tactical rebuilding strategy at Ajax.
MARCA reported that the winger is the most expensive financial investment among targeted acquisitions from the relegated LaLiga squad, with an estimated value of around €15 million, though that could decrease after relegation.
Ajax faces domestic and international competition for the attacker. Turkish club Trabzonspor and Spanish side Espanyol have also launched separate transfer pursuits.
