India advanced to 475-6 at lunch on day two of the one-off Test against Afghanistan in New Chandigarh on Sunday.

Afghanistan pace bowler Mohammad Saleem claimed two wickets during the morning session.

Washington Sundar was unbeaten on 14 runs alongside debutant Manav Suthar, who was not out on nine at the break.

India added 107 runs to their overnight total after resuming the innings from 368-3.

Key Wickets Fall

Indian captain Shubman Gill was dismissed for 126 runs after starting the day at 103 not out.

Saleem broke the 169-run fourth-wicket partnership by having Gill caught behind with a delivery that held its line.

Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant scored 81 runs before being caught at long-off while attempting a big hit off Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi.

Pant had added 31 runs to his overnight score before throwing his wicket away short of a century.

Saleem also bowled Dhruv Jurel for 19 runs to secure his fourth wicket of the innings, leaving India at 452-5.

Afghanistan picked up three wickets in total during the productive morning session.

Missed Review Opportunities

Afghanistan's position could have improved if they had properly utilized the umpire decision review system.

Pace bowler Azmatullah Omarzai struck Gill on the pads when the batsman was on 108, but Afghanistan declined to review the not-out decision despite ball-tracking technology later showing it would have hit leg stump.

Omarzai also beat Pant on the outside edge when the batsman was on 54 runs.

UltraEdge technology later confirmed a feather edge off the bat, but Afghanistan opted against a review.

This marked the third referral error by the Afghanistan team in the match.
