Oregon dropped the series opener 11-3 on Saturday night, falling to 42-17 overall.

Texas improved to 44-13 and needs one more victory to advance to the College World Series in Omaha.

Ducks Look to Bounce Back

Oregon head coach Mark Wasikowski expressed disappointment with his team's performance in Game 1.

The Ducks left 17 runners stranded on base, while starting pitcher Cal Scolari walked six batters and allowed five runs over 3 2/3 innings.

"I'm disappointed in the fact that that's what we brought to the Austin Super Regional in the first game," Wasikowski said.

"I think we're a whole lot better than what we showed tonight."

The Ducks need consecutive victories to reach the College World Series for the first time since 1954.

Oregon will start right-handed pitcher Will Sanford, who holds a 9-2 record and a 3.46 ERA, to extend the series.

Texas counters with right-handed pitcher Ruger Riojas, who has a 5-2 record and a 3.86 ERA.

Longhorns coach Jim Schlossnagle used regular number-two starter Luke Harrison out of the bullpen in the sixth inning on Saturday to stifle an Oregon bases-loaded threat.

"Jim is going to do whatever he has to do to win a game," Wasikowski said.

"He's going to pitch anybody he possibly can if he feels it's going to win a game to get him to the College World Series."

Oregon's bullpen is fresh for the matchup, as relievers Tanner Bradley, Devin Bell, and Toby Twist did not pitch on Saturday.
