The dominant performance lifted Canada to the top of Group B on goal differential, ahead of Switzerland.
However, the victory was overshadowed by a severe leg injury to midfielder Ismaël Koné in the second half, following a challenge by Qatar's Assim Madibo.
Head coach Jesse Marsch emphasized the team's aggressive approach. "We want to make sure we put a performance together that's very Canadian," he said.
Thousands of fans gathered at Toronto's FIFA Fan Festival and the Canada House watch party to celebrate. "I love Canada.
